I was asked by the internationally acclaimed performance designer, takis, to create a Roberto Cavalli-esque 1970s floral print for the incredible Donnerts horse act for Giffords Circus. The pattern had to evoke the 1970s theme of the show, and the flowing texture of the chiffon it was to be printed on for the group's tunics. Each rider wore a slightly different pattern, with the lilies in each given a pop of different colour. The pattern was to be amorphous, and therefore not repeating, but also congruent. The colour was also a challenge as it had to be bright enough not to be drowned out by the stage lights. A great challenge, and it looked magical on the stage whilst the performers were doing their mesmerising act.
